Championship leaders Wolves are hoping to compete with Stoke City and sign Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain, according to a report in the Sun.

The stopper, who has been on loan with Celtic this season and has been impressing for the Champions, is wanted by a whole host of Premier League clubs but Wolves manager Nuno Santo has also been impressed with Bain, despite having John Ruddy at his disposal.

The 26-year-old has made the step into the Celtic first team after being given the chance by Brendan Rodgers thanks to injuries to Craig Gordon and Dorus De Vries, and he has taken it with both hands, delivering a series of impressive displays for the Bhoys in their title run in.

However, Bain is due to be out of contract in the summer and it remains to be seen whether Celtic will make an approach to sign him permanently, and with Premier League interest, the Hoops could fell find it hard to convince Bain to stay anyway.

Stoke are expected to be looking for a new goalkeeper with strong rumours around the future of current number one Jack Butland, while Wolves will be looking for a younger alternative to Ruddy as they look to plan for a long term stay in the top flight.

Wolves fans, what do you make of Bain? Would he be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
