Wolves surprised the footballing world when they announced the signing of Ruben Neves in the summer, for a Championship record fee.

As hoped, the Portuguese midfielder has settled to life in England's second tier brilliantly, producing several standout showings to help the side sit top of the league.

Given the reputation the 20-year old already has in the game, many wondered how long he would spend at Molineux and rumours have consistently persisted that the fanatical Porto fan would want to return to his former club one day.

However, the Express & Star report how Neves told a Portuguese radio station that he is concentrating entirely on Wolves for now. “Right now I'm focused on Wolverhampton, I honestly don't think beyond that, because as I said this Championship is very difficult and we have to stay focused every moment.”

The classy midfielder also revealed he is learning to adapt, and enjoy, the way of English football. “It's already the English culture, the way they see football. Because they live the football, they are completely in love with the sport. So I think any player that does everything for the good of the club, that delivers everything on the pitch, they will like.”

The Verdict

Ruben Neves has been a fantastic signing for Wolves, as you would expect. His passing range is sublime and he is a big reason for the team's early season success.

It seems inevitable that Neves will move onto different things in the future, particularly if Wolves aren't promoted, however, the fans will just be enjoying watching him play for now.

His attitude is pleasing for fans, as he clearly is determined to get the club promoted and isn't entertaining talk of anything else at the minute.
