Wolverhampton Wanderers have been one of the most impressive sides in the transfer market so far this summer, as the transformation under the guidance of Jorge Mendes continues.

Already, newly appointed coach Nuno Espirito Santo has sent shockwaves through not only the Football League but the entirety of England with the acquisition of Ruben Neves from FC Porto.

Alongside Ruben Neves, the arrival of Diogo Jota on loan from Atletico Madrid is another major coup for the Midlands side.

In Santo's Porto side, Jota thrived and it appears that he is more than likely to replicate his impressive performances at Wolves.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo has not fully addressed Wolves major issue from last season which was a worrying lack of goals.

Aside from the loan signing of Leonardo Bonatini from Al-Hilal, Wolves still seem short of a striker who is a guaranteed source of goals.

One player who has surprisingly become available is Huddersfield Town's £4.25m rated striker Nahki Wells.

Over the past three seasons, Nahki Wells has established himself as a proven Championship striker.

Significantly, Nahki Wells also proved himself to be an integral component of a side that won promotion to the Premier League.

Whilst his goal tally was far from impressive, the Bermudan striker has averaged a goal every three games for the West Yorkshire side.

Currently Reading are in the race for the striker who may need minor ankle surgery before a potential move, however, Wolverhampton Wanderers have shown over the past two seasons that they have the financial clout to compete with anyone in the Championship.

With Nahki Wells falling down the pecking order to third choice and the 28-year-old striker entering the final year of his contract, it is looking inevitable that Wells will leave the newly-promoted Premier League side before the transfer window shuts in September.

Even though Reading seemingly remain in the driving seat, there is no real reason why Wolverhampton Wanderers cannot steal in.

As a proven Championship striker even in this hyper-inflated transfer market, he could prove to be the ideal signing for Wolves to make as they look to mount their automatic promotion challenge.

Wolves fans, would you be happy to see Nahki Wells join your side? How much do you think he is worth? Would he be an improvement on your current striking options? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
