Wolves have had a very turbulent start to the season which has already included a managerial change.

Walter Zenga was relieved of his duties after a poor start to the season and has since been replaced by former Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert.

Wolves currently find themselves slumped in 19th place in the Sky Bet Championship table after picking up just four wins from their opening sixteen games.

Lambert will be desperate to improve Wolves' fortunes this season and he will be hoping to see his side jump up the table as quickly as possible.

The 47-year-old will of course be keen to put his own stamp on the squad in January and as a Scotsman himself, Lambert should look to take a dip into the Scottish market, in particular the champions Celtic who are blessed with an abundance of talent in their squad.

This article is going to take a look at two Celtic stars that Lambert could potentially poach in January.

Stuart Armstrong

Former Scotland under-21 international Stuart Armstrong is certainly someone that Wolves could take a closer look at it in the January transfer window.

The former Dundee man is a player with bags and bags of quality - he is very calm and confident when in possession of the ball and also possesses excellent technical ability.

Armstrong has been capped numerous times for various Scotland youth teams and will no doubt be harbouring hopes of a full senior international cap one day - something that a move down to England could help with.

Since signing for Celtic back in 2015, he has gone on to make close to 70 appearances for the club, netting 8 times in the process.

Callum McGregor

Mcgregor

Another player that Wolves could look to poach from the Scottish champions is young midfielder Callum McGregor.

The 23-year-old is a very talented footballer when in possession of the ball, however, a criticism of the young man is that he is sometimes found wanting when it comes to the defensive side of the game, leading to many labelling him a "luxury" player.

McGregor rose through the youth ranks at Celtic Park and broke into the first team in the 2014/15 campaign after impressing during a season-long loan spell with Notts County the season before.

McGregor gets a share of first team opportunities under Brendan Rodgers but he is not first choice and therefore he could be tempted to escape the club to secure first team football week in, week out.
