According to reports in the German media, Wolverhampton Wanderers are on the verge of completing the signing of Phil Ofosu-Ayeh.

Eintracht Braunschweig defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is set to sign a three year deal with Championship club Wolves, according to German media source Kicker.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh is currently plying his trade for Eintracht Braunschweig in the second tier of German football and his team narrowly missed out on promotion to the Bundesliga.

The once-capped Ghanaian international, who recently made his debut for Canada, has decided to join Wolves after choosing them over FC Union Berlin.

Last season, Ofosu-Ayeh played 36 games and scored one goal for the Lions.

The 25-year-old plays predominantly as a right back and is renowned for his forward runs and pace.

If he joins Wolves, he will rival Silvio, Dominic Iorfa and Matt Doherty for a right back spot.

As well as Eintracht Braunschweig (who he joined in 2015), the speedy full back has also represented SV Wilhelmshaven, FC Rot-Weis Erfurt, MSV Duisburg and VfR Aalen but has never played outside of Germany.

Ofosu-Ayeh will be hoping that a move to England can further his career and international ambitions.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh will become Wolves' third summer signing (and third defensive signing) if he arrives.

Wolves have appointed a new boss - Nuno Espirito Santo - and have captured Norwich City defender Ryan Bennett and Roderick Miranda from Rio Ave.
