Wolverhampton Wanderers want to snap up Alex Telles, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese media outlet O Jogo is reporting that Wolves will battle with a duo of Premier League heavyweights in the battle to land Alex Telles this January.
Liverpool, who are looking for a new left back despite signing Andrew Robertson in the summer and Chelsea – who want some competition for Marcos Alonso – are ready to go head to head with Wolves in the pursuit of Telles.
Alex Telles is a highly rated left back currently playing for FC Porto in the top tier of Portuguese football.
The Brazilian has been with Porto since 2016, having previously represented Galatasaray, Gremio and Juventude.
Wolves currently have Ruben Vinagre operating in the left back position but he is only on loan from AS Monaco and manager Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping to add a permanent signing in that department – especially if they can continue their ascent towards the Premier League.
Wolves will be hoping that their Portuguese contingent can convince Telles to Molineux rather than the Premier League.
Super agent Jorge Mendes, manager Nuno Espirito Santo and a host of players, such as Ruben Neves, could be vital factors in bringing Telles to the West Midlands.
But ultimately, the possibility of Liverpool and Chelsea might be too much of a draw for Telles.
