Wolves set to be handed major boost in their bid for survival

According to The Express and Star, Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Ivan Cavaleiro is nearing his comeback from injury.

Ivan Cavaleiro has been out for over a month with a knee injury but he is on the road to recovery and is expected to return to training next week.

However, Joe Mason is still struggling with a hernia issue, which was not expected to be serious when he first sustained it.

Paul Lambert is desperate to get these two back out on the pitch as Wolves have lost five games on the bounce, which has dragged them right into the midst of the relegation battle.

In those last five games, they have managed just two goals and strike duo Cavaleiro and Mason will be major boosts when they return to the team.

Lambert confirmed that Cavaleiro will be assessed in training to see if he needs to play under-23 games to get his fitness up first.
