Wolves are amongst a host of clubs in the race to sign Jack Wilshere this summer, with the Sky Bet Championship champions putting forward a big-money package to the midfielder.

The England international is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer, with his future not yet resolved and it looking like he will be on the move for free.

According to the Mirror, Wolves, who have secured promotion and the Championship title in recent weeks, have put forward a big-money offer to Wilshere, but Everton are also keen on offering him a route across the Premier League.

AC Milan and Juventus are also interested, which hands Wolves further competition, whilst Arsenal are preparing a fresh offer, with the hope they can convince the influential 26-year-old to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal offered Wilshere fresh terms, but with a £20k-a-week pay-cut from the deal he is currently on. It is reported by the Mirror that the latest offer to the midfielder is around the £100k-a-week mark.

Wolves have romped to promotion in the Championship, securing the title along the way.

Attention is turning to their Premier League return, with just one fixture of the Championship season remaining.

The Verdict

Wolves are showing their ambition ahead of their Premier League return, with Nuno clearly looking to make an impact in the transfer window.

Landing a deal for Wilshere would be a huge coup, but with some of the reported numbers Arsenal are offering the midfielder, Wolves’ supporters will be wary of how much their club is offering the 26-year-old in a big-money package.

Either way, the potential of a player of Wilshere’s calibre arriving at Molineux is an exciting prospect ahead of Wolves’ Premier League return.
