Wolves summer signing Barry Douglas had an unusual career path for a British player before joining the West Midlands club.

Having started out at Queens Park, Douglas secured a move to Dundee United.

From Tannadice, the left-back transferred to Lech Poznan and enjoyed a successful spell in Poland, before leaving for Turkish side Konyaspor.

Wolves brought him back to Britain from the Turkish side and he has settled in well to life in the Championship.

However, today the Scotsman shared a photo of him fighting for a ball against one of his current teammates.

The picture shows Douglas playing for Lech Poznan up against Michal Zyro who was playing for Legia Warsaw at the time.

Zyro joined Wolves in January 2016 and has been very unfortunate having suffered a career-threatening injury not long into his time at the club.

He has since returned to action this year and has featured in the Carabao Cup as he looks to build up his fitness.

The Verdict

Barry Douglas is a rarity in that he's a British player who has travelled to play abroad and he has done very well, winning silverware in Poland and Turkey.

He's eventually ended up at Molineux and has settled in really well although he missed out on Saturday's win through injury.

The photo shows how football world can be very small and the pair probably never thought they'd ever come across each other again!
