Romain Saiss has admitted that it's tough for Wolves in the Championship given that every team is desperate to get one over the league leaders.

After playing some brilliant football earlier in the season, which saw some observers brand Wolves the 'Manchester City of the Championship', things have been a lot tougher in recent weeks for Nuno Espirito Santo's men.

Since scoring nine goals against Bolton and Leeds, Wolves have notched just two in three, yet it has still yielded seven points.

However, the performance levels have dropped from those ridiculously high levels too and Saiss acknowledged that it's hard given how teams now change to face the Black Country side.

"Every team wants to beat us now so it's very difficult. Sometimes a team adapts their tactics. We don't need to change our tactics because we know our quality and we have to continue like we did in the beginning of the season," he told the Express & Star.

Wolves face Ipswich, Millwall, Bristol City and Brentford over the hectic festive period with Santo's side currently eight points clear of third place.

The Verdict

Wolves have deservedly recieved a lot of attention and praise from pundits throughout the season and they are now the team to stop.

Opposition players will relish the chance to play and prove themselves against a side that boasts stars such as Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota among others, so Wolves will have to get used to it.

And, in fairness, it looks like they have. Whilst the blistering, attacking football has stopped for now, they have a real togetherness and solid defensive outlook that means they are capable of grinding out results.
