Birmingham City are said to be one of a number of clubs trying to sign Wolves forward, Rafa Mir according to Birmingham Live.

Mir is unlikely to be featuring for the Premier League side anytime soon, and could be set for a summer departure before the transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old only signed for Wolves back in January 2018, but spent last season out on loan with Spanish side, Las Palmas, where he scored seven goals in 28 appearances.

The report from Birmingham Live also claims that a number of Spanish clubs, including Real Zaragoza are interested in landing Mir's signature before the new season starts.

The Blues will be hoping to fill the sizeable void left by Che Adams, who left for Southampton earlier in the transfer window, and Mir could be the player to do that.

They've already confirmed the signing of Croatian youth international, Ivan Sunjic, and will be hoping to add to the quality of their team in the near future.

It remains to be seen as to whether Birmingham have made an official bid to sign Mir, but it's set to be an interesting last few weeks of the summer transfer window.

Pep Clotet's side get their new Championship season underway with a tricky game against Brentford, who will be keen to justify their pre-season promotion credentials.

The Verdict:

This would be a risk, but it could pay off if he hits the ground running.

It's safe to say that he hasn't proven himself in English football yet, which always makes a signing like this a risk for a Championship side.

But he would be guaranteed regular game time with Che Adams leaving Birmingham earlier this summer, and he could be the ideal strike partner to play off of Lukas Jutkiewicz.
