According to reliable journalist, Alan Nixon, Wolverhampton Wanderers are lining up a move for Chris Martin, as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bolster his squad ahead of 2018’s promotion push.
Wolves are currently top of the Sky Bet Championship and looking extremely well placed for promotion back to the Premier League.
Nuno is looking to bolster his squad in January, with Derby County striker, Martin, reportedly on his radar, as he looks to get Wolves over the line in the race for promotion.
So far this season, Martin, 29, has found his opportunities limited at the Pride Park Stadium, making just three starts in the Championship for Derby and scoring once.
Leo Bonatini is Wolves’ only senior striking option, after Nuno failed to bring in a striker following Nouha Dicko’s exit during the summer.
Bonatini has so far bagged 11 Championship goals, spearheading Wolves’ promotion push, which sees them sit top of the table heading into tomorrow evening’s clash with Birmingham City.
Wolves currently hold a point lead over Cardiff City, but will be looking to re-establish their four-point lead over Neil Warnock’s side when they visit St Andrew’s tomorrow evening.
Martin is an experienced Championship striker, who would undoubtedly bring something positive to Wolves.
The Scottish striker would not displace Bonatini, but would provide the Brazilian with ample support.
Martin’s chances at Derby have been limited this season, with David Nugent clearly ahead of him in the pecking order.
