Wolverhampton Wanderers are heading to the Premier League after Fulham's draw with Brentford confirmed their promotion to the top flight.

Wolves have been excellent all season and thoroughly deserve promotion to the Premier League.

And while the current focus will be on celebrating promotion, it is soon time for Wolves to get back to reality and start planning for next season.

Wolves will not want their hard work to be undone next year by suffering a relegation back to the Championship and while their squad is already quite strong, they still could do with some reinforcements in certain departments.

Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly have a list of potential transfer targets in his head and now he needs to send his scouts to watch them in competitive action before the season ends.

Here are four players who Wolves should be scouting before the end of the season with a view to making a swoop this summer.

With plenty of money in the bank, there is no reason why Wolves cannot launch an ambitious swoop for William Carvalho this summer.

The Portugal international, who is currently at Sporting CP, wants a move to the Premier League and he nearly joined West Ham last summer.

The Hammers' loss could be Wolves' gain if Nuno can bring in the 26-year-old, who is rated as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

Another Portuguese player that Nuno should target is Southampton right back Cedric Soares, who could become available for transfer if the Saints get relegated from the Premier League.

Cedric, 26, would be a fantastic addition to Wolves' squad as he would provide competition for places with Matt Doherty in the right wing back spot and he would add Premier League experience to the table.

A number of top Premier League sides and even Barcelona have held an interest in the Portugal international but Wolves could take advantage of their Portuguese links to snap him up.

Wolves could do with another striker and they should target Southampton's Charlie Austin.

The 28-year-old undoubtedly knows where the net is and his Premier League experience could be vital at Molineux.

If Southampton go down - which is looking increasingly likely - then the former Burnley and QPR man is the perfect addition to Nuno's squad.

Wolves could also revisit a move for January target Andre Silva in their hunt for a striker.

The 22-year-old is out of favour at AC Milan after making a summer switch from Porto but he is highly rated and he has netted 11 goals in 20 international matches for Portugal.

Although he might be expensive, Silva could be the type of player to thrive in Nuno's system and he would join the Portuguese contingent at Molineux.
