Wolves manager states need for vital signings with busy summer ahead

Wolves manager Paul Lambert has said that the summer will be crucial, and it is ‘vital’ he brings in three or four quality signings, according to a report in the Express and Star.

The Molineux club have been well below par this season and their first thought is going to be on surviving the drop, however, Lambert is hoping to reach the 50 point mark and put his summer plans firmly in motion as soon as possible.

Lambert said: ‘I think it’ll be fine tuning, three or four top players to come in. I think the kids will get better, a year older. I think the core here is good, I’ve no problem with that. But it needs a few top ones to come right in, I know what’s required’.

It’s been a hugely disappointing season for Wolves, who after being taken over in the summer and overseeing an influx of new players, were expected to challenge at the top of the table.

However, with Lambert now in charge having replaced Walter Zenga, he is left to pick up the pieces and begin another summer rebuild job in the hope of challenging higher up the league table next term.
