Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that they will take on Stoke City in a pre-season friendly, as preparations for their Premier League return continue.

It has been confirmed on Wolves’ official website that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will travel to the bet365 Stadium on July 25th to take on Stoke in a pre-season friendly.

Wolves are currently planning their pre-season schedule, as Nuno Santo’s side continue to prepare themselves for a return to the top-flight of English football.

The Molineux club will travel to Switzerland, where they will face FC Basel and BSC Young Boys, before returning to England to face Stoke in late July.

Nuno Santo is preparing his side for their Premier League return, having successfully guided Wolves to promotion and the Sky Bet Championship title in his first season in English football.

Wolves picked up an impressive 99 points, making short work of the Championship.

They will test themselves against Gary Rowett’s Stoke in pre-season, who last year, suffered relegation from the Premier League.

Rowett was appointed last week, with the ex-Birmingham City and Derby County boss the man tasked with guiding Stoke back to the Premier League.

The Verdict

For Wolves, Stoke will offer them a good test in pre-season.

Nuno Santo’s side will be using pre-season wisely, and going up against an ex-Premier League side should serve them well ahead of next season.

Supporters are sure to look forward to taking on Stoke, particularly with Rowett now in charge.
