Wolves are set to welcome their biggest crowd in 18 months to Molineux against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, as they look to turnaround a bleak run of form.

Recently appointing Paul Lambert as their new boss, Wolves are currently on their worst winless run in four years and are without a win since September.

They'll be looking to turn things around with the welcome of the Owls, where over 27,000 fans will be attendance for Lambert's first game in charge at Molineux.

The Express & Star states attendance numbers have been boosted by half-price ticket sales, whilst Wolves favourites Steve Bull and Andy Thompson will be presented on the pitch to mark their 30th anniversary since joining the club.

Lambert is keen for the players to put on a performance in front of the bumper crowd, though he accepted it wouldn't be an easy affair for the hosts.

“The game’s always about players and fans, the people that watch it. It’s not about me, just because it’s my first home game. For the players I think it’ll be great, a full house and we have to be ready for that."

“There’ll be nearly 30,000 here and the onus is on the home team. We have to get that rapport with the supporters. They’ll come in their numbers and get right behind us."

“I know the razzmatazz that comes with my first game and Steve Bull and Andy Thompson’s anniversary. But when it kicks off we’re up against a good side. We have to play the game and not the occasion."

“I’m looking forward to it – the reason being the crowd. It’ll be a great atmosphere. If we can give them something – which we have to – then it’ll be really exciting.”

Sat just two points above the relegation zone, the next week will be crucial for Wolves as they face QPR on Thursday before hosting Fulham.
