Wolves are among four clubs who want to sign Sunderland and Ireland defender John O'Shea, according to the Chronicle.

The experienced international is set to be out of contract this summer, and with the managerial situation at the Stadium of Light still up in the air somewhat, O'Shea could look to secure a contract elsewhere.

The report claims that O'Shea is keen to remain in the North East, but knows that if a new manager coming is does not fancy the former Man United defender, then he might well have to weigh up his options.

O'Shea moved to Sunderland after a successful spell with Manchester United, where he won the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League during his time at Old Trafford.

His versatility has often meant he has stood out and been considered an invaluable cog in the teams he has played in.

However, with Sunderland now down in the Championship and plenty of changes set to take place, a move to Wolves could well be the sort of final career move O'Shea needs to make. Wolves themselves will be looking for some experienced heads this summer, and O'Shea undoubtedly ticks that box.
