Wolves lodge bid for highly sought-after striker

Wolverhampton Wanderers have lodged a £2.3 million bid for Anderlecht striker Idrissa Sylla, who is attracting lots of interest around the continent, according to the Express and Star.

Kenny Jackett is believed to be targeting a striker to add to their current options Joe Mason and Nouha Dicko, and Sylla could be available should the Belgian club sign a striker of their own this summer.

But that hasn’t stopped the Midlands club from putting in an offer, with the report claiming they are now leading a long line of clubs who are interested in the 25-year old.

Turkey’s Trabzonspor, Italian club Atalanta, and the Premier League’s Southampton, Burnley, Sunderland and Swansea are all chasing the Guinean international’s signature and it’s believed they’ve all been to see him play.

It is reported that the player is preferring a move to England over the other countries believed to be interested in him.

Sylla has scored seven all season in his first campaign in the Belgian capital, where he joined from Zulte Waregem.

Wolves fans, what do you think? Would Sylla be a good signing for you? Are you confident of beating the other clubs to his signature? Let us know in the comments box below!
