Wolves are keen on signing highly-rated Reading forward Danny Loader in the summer as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to strengthen his squad by securing deals for younger players.
That’s according to Football Insider, who claim that Wanderers have tried to get ahead of several rivals to land the England youth international.
Even though he is only 18-years-old, Loader managed to force his way into the Royals first team for much of the previous campaign, playing 21 times as they succeeded in avoiding relegation.
Whilst he only managed one goal, a brilliant effort against Middlesbrough, he impressed with his pace and movement for Jose Gomes’ men.
Therefore, the Berkshire outfit will be reluctant to lose such an exciting talent, however the report states that their financial situation means they may have to consider suitable offers.
A move to Wolves may appeal to the player as they only have a small squad and the prospect of European football next season, which will be confirmed if Manchester City win the FA Cup, could see Santo turn to those on the fringes to deal with the busy fixture list at times.
You can understand why Wolves are interested as Loader is a really exciting player and looks as though he is capable of going on to have a really good career at a high level.
Normally you’d advise against younger players making the move to not play in the Premier League when they could be getting regular minutes in the Championship.
But, Loader may see a path to the first-team open up quite quickly at Molineux and if Reading do need the money then this is a deal you could see happening.
