Former Wolves midfielder and Reading new boy Dave Edwards has opened up on his move to the Berkshire outfit, and has lavished praise on Wolves fans for their support following his move to the Royals.

In a report by the Express and Star, the versatile Welsh midfielder has spoken of how he has been inundated with messages of support from Wolves supporters, and how proud he was of his achievements during his time spent with the Midlands outfit.

“It’s been overwhelming the amount of messages of support I’ve had and the good luck messages, both from Wolves and Reading fans, said Edwards. “Particularly the Wolves fans – I’m really happy with the tone of the messages in terms of them being grateful for the loyalty I’ve shown for the club and how hard I’ve worked."

Edwards also spoke of his 'gratitude' to Wolves fans, and also noted that he has no problem with people judging his footballing ability, but was pleased to see that so many had recognised his hard work on and off the pitch during his time at Molineux.

Edwards will be hoping he can help his new club reach the Premier League after they came so close last season. Jaap Stam is now in his second season in charge of the Royals, and will be looking to take them a step further come May next year.
