According to TeamTalk, Wolves are leading the likes of West Ham and Leicester City in the chase to sign 15-year-old left-back Harrison Webster from Hartlepool United.

The Pools have had a tough time of things in the National League this year and an instant return to the Football League is out of the question.

However, they'll be staying in the fifth tier of English football and be looking to build for next season now.

Webster, though, might not be a part of that for much longer as, despite his tender years, he is already on the fringes of the first team at Victoria Park and attracting interest from sides far higher up the Football League pyramid.

Despite the apparent Premier League interest, though, it's the seemingly top flight bound Wolves who are currently leading the way with them taking the player on trial earlier on in his career.

They might be in pole position, then, and if he signs he'll be joining at an exciting time.

The Verdict

This sort of signing might please Wolves fans nearly as much as the marquee signings from Portugal and the like.

Whilst it makes sense to get excited by a Ruben Neves or a Diogo Jota, seeing your side go after a young player with evident talent and lead the way against Premier League teams is just as confidence boosting.

Let's see if Wolves seal the deal.
