Wolves are making impressive strides on the pitch but they are also looking to improve off it, and have today welcomed Andrew Findlay as the club's new Head of Analysis.

Findlay has previous experience at Manchester City and Manchester United and although his move to Molineux was known for weeks, he has now joined up and revealed exactly why he was keen to make the move.

Everybody's looked at Wolves at the moment an thinking about what the club could achieve. The club hasn't really got any boundaries – it's looking to keep expanding, keep achieving,” he told Wolves' own media channel.

As well as that, Findlay revealed exactly what his job will entail.

My role specifically is to lead the analysis across the whole club. It's about making sure the Head Coach and his staff have access to all of the information they need and making sure that all the analysts have everything they need to provide as much information as possible.”

The appointment of Findlay has been welcomed by Nuno Espirito Santo who is said to have been involved in the process of finding the right person for the job.

The Verdict

Football is changing and the role of an analyst is becoming increasingly important as it allows you to identify a lot of details that can influence decisions.

Of course, some managers will use them more than others, but it appears Santo is one of those who recognise the benefits that Findlay will bring to Wolves.

The fans will enjoy the insight he has given them into his role and with the club's he has previously worked at he is clearly very good at what he does.
