Huddersfield Town have entered the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers target Andre Silva, according to Sky in Italy.

Silva has been a long-term target for Wolves, who want to sign him as their marquee summer addition ahead of their Premier League campaign.

The 22-year-old is reportedly available this summer after failing to impress since sealing a £33m switch from FC Porto to AC Milan last summer.

Silva has managed just two goals in Serie A this season in 24 games, although only seven of those were starts.

In the Europa League, the Portugal international has had more success, scoring six times in 10 games.

And his tally of 12 goals in 22 games for his country also makes him an attractive prospect for both Huddersfield and Wolves.

The Terriers are now competing with Wolves for Silva as they look to add competition for places up front with Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounie, who hit six and seven goals respectively in their first Premier League season.

Wolves are also chasing the Portuguese forward to add quality to their ranks and compete with Rafa Mir, Bright Enobakhare and recently-signed Benik Afobe.

The Verdict

Despite only recently going up, Wolves are probably the more attractive club for Silva.

In Nuno Espirito Santo, there is a manager he is familiar with and he would settle better among a strong contingent of Portuguese players and staff at Molineux.

Wolves need a centre-forward to spearhead their attacks and for exciting attacking midfielders like Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa to work around.
