Wolverhampton Wanderers are the latest club to join the race for Niclas Fullkrug, according to the print edition of The Sun on Sunday via HITC Sport.

A host of Premier League clubs are lining up swoops for Fullkrug after a prolific season in Germany.

Fullkrug has struck 16 goals in all competitions for Hannover 96 this season, including 14 strikes in the Bundesliga.

This ranks him as one of the top goal scorers in the German top division and these performances have not gone unnoticed with a number of English clubs eyeing a move this summer.

As well as Wolves, newly-promoted Cardiff City are keeping their tabs on the 25-year-old.

Premier League quartet Huddersfield Town, Leicester City, Newcastle United and Watford are also considering a swoop for Fullkrug this summer as they aim to bolster their striker options.

Wolves are hoping to snap up the former Germany under-20 international to add some quality to their striker options this summer.

The West Midlands outfit have relied upon Leo Bonatini and Benik Afobe to spend most of the season in the centre-forward role but both were only on loan.

Nuno Espirito Santo is targeting at least one or two new strikers this summer to boost his squad for next year's Premier League campaign.

The Verdict

Fullkrug has had a very good season but he has been less prolific in previous seasons.

Whether he can continue his form from this season remains to be seen.

Either way, Wolves need some strikers and this could be a gamble that pays off.
