Bristol City are set to face increased pressure in the January transfer window regarding the future of Alex Scott.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the 19-year-old has attracted interest from Wolves ahead of the winter window.

This comes following previous speculation surrounding the youngster, with the likes of Leicester City, Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United all linked with an interest in the midfielder.

The Premier League outfit believe that the City star could be available for £10 million.

However, Wolves anticipate the deal being difficult to complete due to the number of clubs in pursuit of the player.

It is believed that up to a dozen top flight sides are monitoring the future of Scott.

Scott has featured 24 times in the Championship this season for Nigel Pearson’s side, contributing four assists for the side currently sitting 18th in the table.

The Robins ended the calendar year of 2022 with a 0-0 draw away to Millwall on Thursday night.

It was previously reported that City value Scott at £20 million.

The Verdict

Scott’s performances have stood out this season and it comes as no surprise to see him tipped with a Premier League move.

While a £20 million valuation may be a fair reflection of Scott’s abilities, it is unlikely City will be able to extract that in a sale without a fierce bidding war.

The finances of the club could dictate a sale at a lower price, closer to a middle ground of £15 million.

Wolves will also have to stave off a lot of interest from elsewhere, which could go against them given their own situation regarding the Premier League table.
