Wolves in battle with Premier League pair for talented defender

Published

on

Wolves are hoping to beat Premier League clubs to the signing of Hartlepool teenager Harrison Webster who has already been on trial with the Black Country side.

The 15-year old left-back is close to the first team at Victoria Park despite his age but he could be set to move in the coming months with strong interest in the player.

According to TEAMtalk Wolves are leading the chase for the youngster although there is interest from Leicester and West Ham United.

The report states that the Championship leaders have already taken Webster on trial which will put them ahead of the Premier League pair when it comes to concluding a deal.

Whilst Nuno Espirito Santo’s men have attracted attention for their recruitment at senior level, they have also taken a keen interest in boosting the academy setup.

Ben Stevenson joined the club from Coventry in January whilst big changes are expected in the summer as several of the current players are released to free up space for the summer.

The Verdict

Wolves fans will be glad to see that even though the focus is on the first-team, they are still looking to invest in the academy.

Clearly, Webster is a talented player given the Premier League interest in him and it would be a coup for Wolves to beat off two established top-flight sides to secure the player.

Given his age, the youngster clearly has a lot of time to improve and he may see Molinuex as the ideal destination to develop his game.
