Very few sides outside of the Premier League can claim to have the excellent academy set-up that Wolverhampton Wanderers have.

With a clear philosophy of producing academy players who are capable of playing and competing at the Sky Bet Championship level, very few academy set-ups come close to Wolves.

The productive academy set-up has seen Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause come through the academy system and they have both been capped at England u-21 level.

As well as Dominic Iorfa, the likes of Danny Batth, Lee Evans and Jack Price have also come through the academy system and have gone on to establish themselves as first team starters.

The latest academy success story has been Harry Burgoyne, who was one of the standout performers in Wolves historic 2-1 victory over Liverpool.

Paul Lambert may look to bring through one or two emerging stars to help further strengthen Wolves squad for the remainder of the season.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen has identified two emerging stars who Wolves fans need to get seriously start getting excited about.

Donovan Wilson

Having joined from Bristol Rovers in 2014, Donovan Wilson has established himself as one of the standout performers for Wolves development squad this season.

Wilson has scored six times and also provided an assist in just ten Premier League 2 matches this season as well as scoring in Wolves' comprehensive EFL Trophy victory over Accrington Stanley.

The 19-year-old striker has been on the bench for Wolves' Championship fixture against Wigan Athletic, however, he has yet to make his senior debut for Wolves.

If Wilson continues his prolific goal-scoring for Wolves' development side, it won't be long before Lambert takes notice and promotes Wilson to the senior squad on a regular basis.

Donovan Wilson's consistent performances this season have proved that he is one of the emerging young stars in Wolves' illustrious academy set-up.

Daniel Armstrong

The 19-year-old winger has been the latest promising talent to come through Hamilton Academical's academy, having followed in the footsteps of Premier League trio Stephen Hendrie, James McCarthy and James McArthur.

The Scottish winger joined Wolves from Hamilton Academical as a 17-year-old and has developed since being part of Wolves' extremely competitive development side.

Armstrong has played an important role in Wolves' Premier League 2 campaign, having made five appearances for the development side so far this season.

The versatile winger who is capable of playing on either flank or even as an unorthodox centre-forward has shown that he has all the physical attributes to be a first team player.

As Armstrong continues to impress for Wolves' development side, it is clear that he is emerging as a young star for Wolves and he could be one of the next generation to break through into Wolves first team set-up.
