Hurricane Harvey has wrecked many people’s homes and livelihoods in the city of Houston Texas recently, but one Wolves fan has received some help from nearly 5,000 miles away.

Reports from the Express and Star have revealed that Clive Hill, a Wolves fan living stateside, and his wife had their home flooded by the storm and lost everything from furniture to Clive’s signed photo of Wolves legend John Richards.

An online fundraiser was set up by another Wolves fan living in the area, and close friend of Clive Hill, Paul Lappage with the goal of raising $500, a goal that has already been exceeded by nearly $150.

Speaking to the Express and Star, the 65-year-old had this to say:

“Every single piece of furniture is ruined. Every appliance - the fridge, stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher - has gone.

“But we have been fortunate compared to many others. We have only lost stuff and stuff is replaceable.”

The Verdict

This is what football is all about, bringing a community of people together as a team no matter where in the world you may be.

Some people are donating as much as $50 to this fan who they don’t even know, but want to help him out because of his allegiance in football.

A lot has happened in the past to give football fans a bad name, but this shows that we aren’t all bad.
