According to the Express and Star, Danny Batth and Ryan Bennett are pushing for a recall to the Wolverhampton Wanderers starting XI for this weekend’s clash with Millwall.

So far this season Nuno Espirito Santo has preferred a back-three of Roderick Miranda, Conor Coady and Willy Boly in the Sky Bet Championship, with the trio featuring in all five league fixtures.

However, Nuno will be forced into a change for this weekend’s clash with Millwall, as Boly is ruled out with a hamstring problem.

Boly’s absence will give Batth or Bennett the opportunity to make their first Championship start for Wolves under Nuno, with the duo so far limited to appearances in the Carabao Cup.

Batth and Bennett have both featured in Wolves’ victories over Yeovil and Southampton in the Carabao Cup, as Nuno’s side have progressed through the first two-rounds of the competition.

Nuno has had a successful start to life in England, with the Wolves boss picking up 10 points from his opening five Championship fixtures.

Wolves have victories over Middlesbrough, Derby County and Hull City, as well as a draw in their most recent fixture against Brentford.

The only defeat Wolves have suffered came against Cardiff City, the only team left in the Championship with a 100% record.

The Verdict

Boly’s absence will be a blow for Nuno, but he will be confident in the quality of back up he has available to him at Molineux, with both Batth and Bennett more than capable Championship defenders.

Both have been impressive in the Carabao Cup for Wolves this season, with Batth even getting his name on the scoresheet against Southampton in the last round.

Neither player has conceded a goal when included in the starting XI this season, which will leave Nuno confident that his side can overcome to loss of Boly against Millwall and continue their excellent start.
