Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering a move for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, according to reports in the Brazilian media.

Esporte are reporting that Wolves have made an offer to the impressive striker, who netted 20 goals in 40 matches for Real Sociedad this season.

The 26-year-old joined the Basque club in 2016 and now Wolves are hot on his trail and have let him know what their project in the Premier League involves.

The West Midlands outfit are waiting to hear back from Jose, who is stalling on making a decision over his future for now.

The former Brazil under-20 international, who was snubbed for a senior call-up by Tite for the World Cup, started his career in South America, playing in both Brazil and Uruguay while having plenty of loan spells at the likes of Real Madrid, Zaragoza and Las Palmas.

He enjoyed the best season of his career so far at Real Sociedad in La Liga and now Wolves are hoping to snap him up.

Wolves are keen to bring in at least one new striker despite signing Benik Afobe on a permanent deal.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Stoke City and Wolves are also reportedly interested in Andre Silva.

The Verdict

Jose would be a risk considering his lack of Premier League experience but this deal depends on the price.

Real Sociedad will not let their star striker leave on the cheap after scoring at an impressive rate of one goal every other game for the Spanish side.

A successful Premier League switch would enhance Jose's international ambitions and a move to Molineux, with a strong Portuguese-speaking contingent, would be the best place for him to settle easily in a new country.
