Wolves are thought to be interested in making another move for Reading's Danny Loader in January after his summer switch to Molineux fell through at the last minute.

The 19-year-old was having a medical with the Premier League outfit ahead of a deadline day switch, however the Express & Star revealed that the Royal upped their asking price at the last minute which prevented the transfer happening.

However, that doesn't mean a move to the west Midlands won't happen for Loader in the future, with reporter Alex Dicken telling Berkshire Live that it could be revisited in the winter window.

"I believe it's something they're certainly going to look at heading into the January window, but things can change. Wolves have watched him for some time and they have made it a priority in recent seasons to sign up talented youngsters, which Loader certainly is."

The teenager has endured a tough start to the season with Reading, making just two Championship appearances.

But, he played the full 90 minutes as they beat Plymouth in the last round of the League Cup, so he will hope to be involved when the Championship side take on Wolves tonight in what could be a strange game for the player.

The verdict

This wouldn't be too much of a surprise because, as mentioned, Wolves have placed a real emphasis on attracting top-quality youngsters in the past 12-18 months and they clearly feel Loaders fits into that category.

The fact talks were so far advanced last time also shows that the forward would be interested in a move.

Ultimately, it will be down to the sides agreeing terms but there is more time for negotiations now, unlike last time when everything happened at the last minute.
