Wolves director outlines his expectations for the 2017/18 campaign

Wolverhampton Wanderers director Jeff Shi, of the Fosun Group which owns Wolves, has revealed his lofty ambitions for the club next year, the official website is reporting.

In an interview on the Wolverhampton Wanderers official website, Wolves director Jeff Shi has said that he believes Wolves have a good enough squad to be challenging for a play-off place next season.

Shi has decided that a play-off finish is the very minimum expectation for the 2017/18 campaign after a recent run of five consecutive wins have seen Wolves clamber away from the relegation zone and into the safety of mid-table with a comfortable buffer of more than 10 points separating them from the drop zone.

Jeff Shi also pointed out that money would be spent in the summer so that Wolves could compete for an automatic promotion space.

Shi has confirmed that the club will not be afraid to spend large sums of money on players to improve the squad.

Wolves fans – what do you make of Shi’s comments? Are these realistic aims? Let us know in the comments below…
