Wolves are on course for promotion to the Premier League.

Nuno Santo's side sit top of the Championship table having amassed 71 points in what has been a sensational campaign for the Black Country outfit.

Santo will surely be starting to draw up potential transfer targets for the summer, and one player who he could keep tabs on is Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga.

It's clear that Boro boss Tony Pulis hasn't got the former Forest man in his first-team plans, and a move away from the Riverside in the summer could be a possibility.

Should Wolves keep tabs on the striker?

We discuss....

Adam Simeoni

They have a decision to make between him and Afobe.

Assombalonga would score more goals at Premier League level, so perhaps Santo will consider a move for the Middlesbrough man instead.

However he runs the risk of upsetting fans, who were delighted to welcome Afobe back to the club. Assombalonga is the better player in my opinion however, and could certainly excel in the Premier League.

Sam Preston

Absolutely. Pulis isn't convinced by Assombalonga - he has always preferred taller target men like Rudy Gestede - and I'm sure he would listen to offers for the former Forest man in the summer.

Wolves have the money to pay the £15m Boro shelled out for him in the summer, but I've got a feeling Pulis would sell for less, to get some cash in to further bolster his squad.

Wolves could pull off a quality transfer swoop here.

George Dagless

I think so.

Wolves brought in Benik Afobe for extra fire power but there's clearly no certainty around his deal becoming permanent.

With Assombalonga seemingly not a complete favour of Tony Pulis it could be worth looking at.

Alfie Burns

Although Assombalonga is amongst the best in the Championship, if I was Wolves I wouldn’t bother.

If Benik Afobe delivers the goods at Molineux during the second-half of the season, which I expect he will do, then he should be the striker Wolves make a summer move for.
