Wolves are close to agreeing a deal to sign Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo, according to a report by HITC.

The 23-year-old is set to sign a deal at Molineux after failing to break into the team at Chelsea, and he could well be the answer to what has been seen a problem position for Wolves ever since the end of last season.

Omeruo has been with the Blues since 2012, and has enjoyed three separate loan spells during his time with the club, including a spell with Middlesbrough where he made over 30 appearances for the Teeside club.

A full Nigerian international, Omeruo will be hoping to finally settle into life in English football and make Wolves somewhere he can really push on and develop his career.

Wolves will be hoping to push on this season under yet another new manager, and they have already been active in the transfer market, spending massive sums on players like Ruben Neves. Following last season's disappointing campaign, they will be hoping their big spending can push them towards a top six place.

The signing of Omeruo will no doubt give Wolves fans a further boost ahead of the campaign.
