Wolves will be looking for a fifth consecutive win this afternoon when they entertain lowly Bolton Wanderers but boss Nuno Espirito Santo insists the visitors will provide a stern test for his table toppers.

A 4-1 rout of Leeds United in the week extended Wolves’ lead at the top to four points and with Bolton down in 23rd with just two wins all season, Santo’s men are huge favourites today. However, he is adamant that his players must not lose focus against Phil Parkinson’s side who have certainly improved over the past month.

Games are very hard in this competition. We treat all our opponents exactly the same way, in the same way that we are not looking at the league table. Bolton are unbeaten for the last seven games which says a lot about their team and the difficulties we will face – we must be ready for it,” he told the official site.

The ex-Porto boss is also determined for his players to maintain their good home form in front of another big crowd today.

We are at Molineux, it is our fans behind the team, and there is no better place to be and to play well.”

The Verdict

Bolton are certainly a much tougher opponent now than they were in the first few months of the season and to go seven games unbeaten is a very good achievement for any club in this league.

Although, Wolves are massive favourites and it’s easy to see why. They operate in a different world to Parkinson’s men and that extra quality and class that they’ve bought should tell today.

Nevertheless, if they are complacent then Wolves could get a shock but going from Santo’s comments it looks as if there’s little chance of that happening.
