According to a report by The Hartlepool Mail, Brad Walker is a summer transfer target for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
Hartlepool United ace Brad Walker has reportedly turned down a new contract to stay with the club and could now be set for a switch to the Championship or League One.
The 21-year-old was one of Hartlepool United’s standout players last season after a career transformation.
Initially starting his career as a central midfielder, Walker has thrived as a defender this year but could not prevent Hartlepool from suffering relegation to non-league last season.
Hartlepool United are set to compete in the National League next season after finishing second bottom in League Two last year but they might have to do without Brad Walker in their squad.
One of the interested parties is Wigan Athletic, who suffered their own relegation last season.
The Latics could not stay afloat in the Championship after winning the League One title in 2015/16 and are heading straight back for the third tier.
They will be aiming for yet another promotion and Brad Walker is one of their transfer targets to achieve this.
But they face competition from Championship side Wolves.
Wolves, who have recently appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as their new manager, are likely to be active in the transfer window again.
Brad Walker could be snapped up for a mere compensation fee by Wolves or Wigan this summer.
