Wolves and Preston plot to hijack move for Premier League defender

Sky Bet Championship sides Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End are plotting to hijack Barnsley’s move for Liverpool full-back Connor Randall, according to a report on page 51 of Monday’s Sun.

Jurgen Klopp seemingly feels that a loan move would give the 21-year-old right back the opportunity to experience regular first team football and further enhance his development.

Barnsley who are searching for a replacement for James Bree emerged as the favourites to secure Connor Randall as negotiations opened, between Barnsley and Liverpool.

However, it has now emerged from the Sun that Sky Bet Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End are plotting to hijack the move.

With Barnsley desperately in need of new recruits, they will have to move quickly amongst tough competition if they want to acquire Randall’s services before the transfer window shuts.

Wolves and Preston fans, what do you make of the news? Would you like to see Connor Randall join your side? Do Barnsley remain favourites? Do you feel your club needs to strengthen their full back position? Would he be the calibre of signing you hope your club would make? Which club do you think is the most enticing option?
