Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa are both interested in signing Porto striker Moussa Marega in this summer’s transfer window.

According to newspaper Correio da Manhã - via Sport Witness - he has been linked with a move to both Nuno Espirito Santo and Steve Bruce’s sides.

The 27-year-old forward scored 22 goals in his 29 LIGA Nos appearances this season, and would make a terrific signing for either club.

Marega is one of a number of Porto players likely to leave the Portuguese league this summer.

The prolific goal scorer has had a €30m price tag put on him, to try and ward off any potential transfer enquires.

Nuno Espirito Santo is likely to have the advantage going into any further negotiations ahead of Aston Villa, having managed Moussa Marega’s current club during the 2016/17 season.

Premier League outlet West Ham United are also thought to be interested in the striker, according to the report.

Aston Villa have a chance of joining recently promoted Wolves in the Premier League next season, if they can beat Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham in the Championship play-off final this Saturday.

The Verdict

A real talent for finding the back of the net, any team would be lucky to have Moussa Marega in their squad for next season.

With the Portuguese connection that has done them so well this season, Wolves will fancy their chances of securing Marega’s signature this summer.

Without a win against Fulham in the play-off final, it is very unlikely Aston Villa will be able to persuade the Mali international to join the Claret and Blue Army.
