Wolves among clubs trying to secure deal for clinical Newcastle United striker

Rotherham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Preston North End are reportedly showing interest in talented Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong, according to Chronicle Live.

It was inevitable that Armstrong would attract interest heading into the 2016/17 campaign, after having a terrific season on loan at Coventry City last year.

Armstrong scored an impressive 20 goals in 40 games for the Sky Blues, averaging a goal every 2 games.

However, with Newcastle’s quality, it is unlikely that Armstrong will be wanted by Rafa Benitez so will almost certainly exit on loan to another Championship club.

Wolves, Rotherham and Preston are three clubs interested – these are teams who are all in desperate need of a goalscorer before the start of the season in August.

Rotherham will be looking to be better than relegation battlers, and Preston and Wolves are chasing a top-half finish.

Nouha Dicko is to return soon for Wolves and will be looking for a new strike partner – Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson and Adam Le Fondre will be leaving the club.

Newcastle fans…. Do you want to keep or loan out Armstrong? Let us know below!
