Wolverhampton Wanderers look set to put a host of Sky Bet Championship clubs on alert, with Ben Marshall heading for the exit door at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have wrapped up promotion and the Championship title this season, with Wolves now preparing themselves for a return to the top-flight.

That top-flight return is likely to result in a number of departures, with Marshall one player heading for the Molineux exit door.

According to the Daily Mail, a host of Championship clubs are interested in a move for the 27-year-old winger, with Wolves set to start an auction.

Marshall has been with Wolves since January 2017, but spent the second-half of the 2017/18 campaign on-loan with Millwall in the Championship, as his parent-club stormed to promotion.

The winger made 16 starts for Millwall, helping Neil Harris’ side challenge for the top-six after an incredible run of form in 2018.

Marshall scored three goals, as Millwall eventually finished the season in eighth, three points adrift of the play-off zone.

Millwall are keen to take Marshall back next season, but the interest from elsewhere in the Championship would complicate a return to the Den.

The London club fear their rivals could outbid them.

The Verdict

Interest in Marshall is hardly a surprise, with the winger impressive across the Championship at Millwall during the second-half of the season.

The 27-year-old would improve most squads in the Championship, with Wolves’ situation this season a rare one where Nuno had bags of quality at his disposal.

Marshall’s loan at Millwall might have given them an edge in the race to sign him, but it will depend where interest elsewhere comes from.
