Wolverhampton Wanderers have placed a valuation of £14 million on star striker Benik Afobe amid interest from Norwich City, according to the Mirror.

Afobe has been valued at a whopping £14 million

Wolves released a statement last week stating the 22-year old was not for sale, but Norwich manager Alex Neil was undeterred, and submitted a 'substantial bid' according to Sky Sports.

The bid was rejected, but Norwich remained determined to get their man and yesterday submitted a second, improved offer, according to Sky Sports News presenter Jim White.

The fee involved was rumoured to be around £8 million, representing a huge profit on the £2 million that Kenny Jackett paid to bring him to Wolves from Arsenal, but this latest news suggest the Midlands club value their striker at closer to £14 million.

Norwich City's interest in the young striker is understandable, Afobe scored 15 goals in 23 games for Wolves last season and has already scored 3 in 5 this term.

Afobe was an unused substitute in Wolves 2-1 victory over Barnet in the Capital One Cup last night. Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, manager Kenny Jackett said:

'They (Norwich) have made a bid and it has been turned down. Benik Afobe is a Wolves player and when the window shuts he will still be a Wolves player.

'There is an enormous amount of speculation but he won't be leaving. There are big things at stake and it is not just about one player.

'We are looking at the whole picture, the amount of time left in the window, the overall prices. There is so much to consider and everything points towards not letting anyone go.'
