Wolves continued their fine form with a comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham on Friday night, that saw them extend their lead at the top to two points.

The hosts had Barry Douglas to thank for the win, with the Scottish wing-back man putting in two fantastic deliveries that led to the goals.

Douglas joined Wolves under the radar in the summer, arriving from Konyaspor and has quickly established himself in the team.

Speaking to the official site, the 28-year old believes his teammates must keep improving if they are to maintain their lead at the top. “We know the quality we have, but we can't get too carried away – we take it one game at a time. The pressure is on us being at the top of the table, so it's up to us to keep producing and to get better and better.”

The only downside for Wolves and Douglas on Friday night was a yellow card the the left wing-back picked up. It was his fifth of the season and means he will miss the trip to Reading once the Championship resumes after the international break.

The Verdict

This message will please Wolves fans as Douglas is clearly not getting carried away and realises there is a long way to go.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men are no longer an unknown quantity and teams will have a specific game plan when they face them now. So, as Douglas says, they will have to adapt to that.

The former Dundee United man has been a superb signing for a relatively modest fee and proved his worth in an attacking sense with his great deliveries on Friday night that were responsible for the win.
