Wolverhampton Wanderers should pull out the stops to sign World Cup bound goalkeeper this summer

Published

The 2017/18 campaign was one to remember for the supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers and after romping to the Championship title, the club will swiftly turn attentions towards building a squad capable of being competitive among the Premier League’s big boys.

Portuguese boss Nuno Espírito Santo went down the route of splashing the cash on expensive players from overseas last summer and it paid dividends given their charge towards the top flight with the likes of Rúben Neves proving far too good for the second tier of English football.

It seems likely that the club will spend bucket loads of money again during this summer’s transfer window and one man who could be a quality signing for Wolves is Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The highly-rated custodian is World Cup bound with England this summer but upon his arrival back in the UK the transfer speculation will intensify ahead of what looks like being a big money transfer saga.

Given Butland’s potential and undoubted quality there will probably be lots of potential suitors ready to pay Stoke the money they want for their prized asset, although the chance to play regular football might prove an attractive proposition as opposed to sitting on the bench at a top six club.

If a deal can be struck between the two clubs, Wolves would strike a significant blow to some of their Premier League rivals and bolster their chances of a successful maiden campaign back in the top flight.

Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, would you welcome the Stoke City man at your club next season? Let us know in the comments below!!!
