Wolves have rejected a bid from Fulham for Stearman

Fulham are understood to have offered £1.5 million for Stearman as Kit Symons looks to strengthen his defence for next season after seeing his side concede 83 goals last season - only relegated Blackpool let in more.

However, Wolves have rejected the bid and made it clear that the defender is not for sale.

Stearman has become an integral part of Kenny Jackett's plans in the last two seasons after returning from a loan spell at Ipswich Town two years ago.

The 27-year-old was named the club's Player of the Year and is expected to hold talks with the Molineux club this summer over extending his current deal, which runs out next summer.

Fulham are monitoring the situation and could make another offer should contract talks break down.

If Stearman fails to agree to a new deal, Wolves may decide to sell him rather than risk letting him leave the club for nothing next summer.
