Express and Star journalist Tim Spiers, has confirmed Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Paul Lambert is currently scouting for signings, rather than spending time at the club’s training ground.

Wolves are currently in the middle of a two-week international break, and Spiers has revealed Lambert is not using his spare time to work with his squad at Compton Park, he is instead on the look out for potential transfer targets.

Lambert took over at Molineux in November, and was tasked with helping Wolves avoid relegation from the Sky Bet Championship in his first six-months with the club.

After a difficult start, which left Wolves flirting with the Championship’s bottom-three, Lambert’s side finally seem to be on the rise to safety, having recorded three consecutive victories before the international break.

Lambert has already set about strengthening his squad, when he secured Helder Costa on a permanent transfer during the January transfer window, along with the additions of Ben Marshall and Andreas Weimann.

It now appears the former Norwich City and Blackburn Rovers boss is planning for the 2017/18 campaign with a scouting mission.
