Following their third round victory over Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup, Wolverhampton Wanderers were given a glamour tie at Premier League Manchester City, with the club confirming on Twitter that the club had sold their allocation of tickets for the game at the Etihad Stadium.

Having already defeated Southampton on the road, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men will be eyeing up another scalp on the road, although Pep Guardiola’s men will present a monumental challenge to the Black Country side.

The Citizens lie top of the Premier League having won six of their opening seven fixtures, scoring an incredible 22 goals in the process.

Guardiola is likely to make changes for the tie, but Santo’s men will undoubtedly face a side loaded with talent and seasoned internationals.

Wolves are full of confidence following an excellent start to the season of their own, and Santo’s men will be quietly confident of pulling off a shock result in the competition.

The Verdict

Wolves are a big club with a huge following both home and away, so it is no surprise to see the club sell out their allocation at one of the world’s biggest clubs.

The trip up to Manchester is a short one for the boys from the Black Country, and although City are clear favourites for the tie, Wolves will feel that they could cause the home side problems.

With Diogo Jota, Leo Bonatini and Helder Costa coming up against a City side sure to be full of fringe players, fans will feel that a shock result could be on the cards.
