‘Woeful, unfit and uninterested’, ‘Awful’ – These Derby County fans slam high-profile figure after latest defeat

Derby County’s dismal form continued as they were beaten 2-0 by Barnsley at Pride Park this afternoon.

The Rams were expecting to challenge for the top six under Phillip Cocu this season but it hasn’t gone to plan and they are currently bottom of the Championship. They were particularly poor today, with Wayne Rooney once again struggling to make an impact.

The Manchester United legend has had a tough campaign so far, often playing in a more advanced role given Derby’s injuries and it just hasn’t worked out.

It was a similar story against the Tykes and Rooney was forced to drop deeper and deeper to try and get on the ball.

Given Rooney’s stature in the game, he was always going to be scrutinised in the Championship and it’s fair to say the Derby fans haven’t been impressed with the 35-year-old.
