The first legs of the Championship play-off semi-finals have taken place, with both Aston Villa and Leeds United taking a one-goal lead into the second legs this week.

Villa came from behind to lead West Brom 2-1, whilst a Kemar Roofe strike was enough to give Leeds the advantage over Derby County in their visit to Pride Park.

So with Leeds and Villa on course to meet in the Championship play-off final later this month, would this make it one of the biggest play-off finals ever?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

“I think it could be.

“These are two sides whose history and infrastructure suggest that they belong in the top tier, and their current sides suggest that another meeting could be an enticing spectacle.

“Not least because of the recent and much discussed controversy between the two.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Perhaps it would.

“In context of the two clubs current situation, absolutely.

“The ill-feeling around their last game would throw some real spice on it.

“The biggest ever is a tough shout though, they’re all big matches aren’t they?”

George Brooks

"Without a doubt, it'd be massive. Leeds United and Aston Villa are two of the biggest clubs in English football and have both had fantastic seasons.

"Leeds have challenged for automatic promotion all season, while Villa have been outstanding in recent weeks and are the form team going into the play-offs.

"If both teams get to the final, it promises to be a very entertaining game - especially if you consider all the controversy that has gone on between the two sides over the past few weeks."
