Swansea City winger Dan James has had a turbulent couple of weeks, with the youngster the centre of a transfer saga between the Swans and Leeds United.

Toward the back end of the January transfer window Leeds were in pursuit of James, with the player even undergoing a medical with the Whites before Swansea pulled the plug on the deal at the eleventh hour of deadline-day.

For a player of 21, he will not have ever experienced that type of thing and he will be hoping he never has to go through it again.

The BBC are now reporting that talks are underway between Swansea and James over a new contract, with the winger’s deal edging closer to expiring.

It remains to be seen if James commits to the Swans, but the player will not know whether he’s coming or going at this stage.

The club's American owners appeared adamant James was to be sold to Leeds, before a disagreement with Huw Jenkins, shortly before he departed Swansea.

Now, James has the owners who had sanctioned his move, negotiating a new deal for him - a strange turn of events.

In addition to that, the Mirror have been reporting that Leeds still hold an interest in James and there’s a chance that they might revisit a deal when the summer comes around.

James was keen on a move to Elland Road, which might still remain the case, only adding to the confusion.

However Swansea and Leeds are feeling at this stage, James has to come first. What the future holds is anyone’s guess and the youngster’s head must feel like it is about to explode.
