Reading have had an inconsistent season so far, although through Mark Bowen’s guidance they have no real threat of relegation heading into the final 13 games.

First up, it’s Sone Aluko. Reading’s record signing at the time of joining, and he arrived from what was a promotion rival in Fulham. It looked to be a big moment for the club, but it just hasn’t come off at all. He’s been very poor and since he’s arrived back from his loan in China, he’s featured in just two Championship games.
He’ll be looking for a fresh start, and it probably won’t be at Reading. It’s a shame that it’s come to this after the club has spent so much money on him, but it’s what is best for the player himself. It will be interesting to see where he ends up and if any other Championship club decides to take a gamble on him.
Garath McCleary has now been at Reading for eight years, and in that time he’s experienced a lot of ups and downs with the club. From scoring at Wembley, to being excluded from the first-team, he’s had his fair share of moments in the spotlight.
He’s now not being picked in the first-team by manager Bowen and it appears his time at Reading is coming to a close. He needs a fresh start and to move on with his career in order to carry on playing regularly until he retires.
